Tricia Campbell

Immediate Past President

Tricia Campbell is now BOTA Past President. She was President 2019-20 and led the organisation through the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to that she sat on the BOTA executive committee as Secretary and held the position of BMA rep during the Junior Doctor contract negotiations.

She is an ST6 in Trauma and Orthopaedics based in the North East. She has spent a year as a Leadership and Management Fellow at Health Education England (HEE). Through her different workstreams, She was able to make a tangible impact on engagement and morale, education and training to deliver better outcomes for patients, colleagues and organisations.

She is passionate about creating a community that is inclusive and equips every individual to thrive. She was privileged to sit on the panel conducting an independent review into diversity of surgical leadership at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Role Responsibilities

The Immediate Past President provides advice, institutional or organisational memory and leadership to the BOTA committee, regarding past practices and other matters. The goal is to assist the President and their committee in working towards the goals of BOTA. The Immediate Past President supports the president and executive on an as-needed basis. The Immediate Past President can perform the duties of the President in the absence or disability of the President.
